What we do:
With our film festival we aim to contribute to the acceptance, visibility and empowerment of trans* and gender variant people in society. We do this since 2011 through a biennial film festival and spinoff activities throughout the year. The next edition will be organised in Amsterdam in May or June 2017.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a enthousiastic Propaganda Rescuer (PR). Living around Amsterdam is an advantage, but is not essential, because of meetings. We are particularly pleased with people who could commit themselves to TranScreen for a longer time.
We’re looking for someone who:
- keeps oversight of the PR activities, following our PR plan.
- can write good texts, press releases and newsletters.
- is at ease with social media.
- keeps good contact with our webmaster.
- keeps good contact with our board.
- speaks Dutch and/or English.
The Propaganda Rescuer will be part of the festival team. Therefore you can count on support by and input from the other festival team members. This task will take place throughout the year, peaking just before and during the festival.
If you would like to make another contribution, please sign up as well! We always welcome an extra pair of hands.
How we work:
The festival team meet once or twice a month together. Besides, everyone has their own tasks which we perform individually or in groups of two.
What we offer:
We offer monthly meetings in a somewhat chaotic, yet intimate and cozy atmosphere with quirky and sometimes stubborn team members. The festival offers good opportunities to get to know our community and to network. In addition, you can watch free movies during the festival. Travel expenses are limited.
Who we are:
We are the festival team, consisting of five people (Plette, Karola, Maik, Femke and Vick) of all sorts, a mixture of trans* and gender queer identities. We are supported by the five board members of TransMotion Foundation.
You can sign up via firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your contact details and your availability.
